. . . but I might as well do the blog year in review now, seeing as my sister did it already. Not that it really reviews everything, but it's fun anyway. On with the meme!
Look at the posts you've made in the past year, and paste the first line of the first post of each month.
January: Okay, so this photo was from a few weeks ago, but this is also what today looked like in Berkeley - a crisp, clear day to start out the New Year.
February: Just a little something for you while I think up something interesting to write.
March: I took these [photos] on the way to the train station before work . . . the morning light was just perfect!
April: Ah, April 1st; the Fool's Day, as it were.
May: This is what happens when I have worries and no answers: a web log posting drought.
June: We are what we pretend to be. [ June 1st was a Vonnegut quote]
July: My handy Schott's Almanac 2008 Page-a-Day desk calendar has the following quote for today: If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- J.R.R. Tolkein
August: Technically I'm not really home yet.
September: Yes, yes - Paris is amazing!
October: I am sated.
November: The rain overnight has left the world darker, but soon, in this crazy California pseudo-Mediterranean climate, it will be green and almost spring-like.
December: Another thing on my Christmas list: World Peace.

You inspired me. And as disjointed as it may seem, it really did give me a sense of how my year was. Wacky.

I was thinking how much was missing from mine, in terms of what I focused on in my head about the past year . . . and, yeah, it made me think a bit more how we prioritize memories. I sometimes deplore my blog as trivial, since I had such perhaps-impossible-to-meet expectations when starting about it being literary (in retrospect, just silly of me) but I've found it a useful and fun thing - and anything that keeps me in closer touch with friends and family in far away places is a great thing!
