What a Minnesota thing to be able to say: "Oh, I was up at the lake . . ."
Well, Ellen's wedding reception was at her now-husband's family cabin on Lake Waverly, in Waverly MN. It was definitely hot, but the breeze coming off the lake was pleasant and the lemonade was plentiful, so I wasn't as hot as I thought I'd be. Besides, there was a shaded area, and a nice big willow at the lake's edge. I have just a few photos, though, because my camera's batteries died not too long after we got there. *sigh* Oh well. I know Sharyn will have photos and perhaps I can borrow a few for the blog.
Sadly though I am back to being itchy - something here definitely set my allergies off. I have no idea what, but there's tons of pollen around, and I also think I'm allergic to Rachel's carpeting. Argh. Sensitive skin is annoying.
On a better note, I brought several photos saved on my USB thingy and showed them to Rachel and she liked a few really well and we printed them out on her printer on some nice semi-glossy photo paper. The photos look so sharp. Definitely better than on the computer screen. So tomorrow I am going to finish up a couple of photo projects, like the photos for Ann and Heidi, and a little secret project for Nicki's wedding.
One last thing: I miss all these trees when I am out in California - the aspen get so much bigger here, and the oaks, and red maple. And the corn fields. I never thought I would miss corn fields, but on the drive out Hwy 12 to Waverly, we passed several scenic fields and I thought of taking photos, but it's better that we didn't stop - we got there right at 3pm. Anyway, I find myself growing nostalgic - though I am sure once I am back in Berkeley and the weather is beautiful and sunny during the day and nice and cool at night (none of this 86 at 11pm - seriously, what's up with that!).
And now off to bed so I can have breakfast with Uncle Tom, my cousin Ruth, and brothers Thyme & Bow tomorrow morning. Yay!
