I am at Rachel's new apartment and about to go to bed, but the humming of the CPU was too loud and that reminded me that the computer was on, and mere moments later here I am. Thank the geek gods for DSL or cable modem whatever Ben & Rachel have in their apartment.
So far I have hung out with family a lot - which is good since the main reason I am in town was to go to my Uncle Peter's wedding - and have played lots of games and even got to see Ann, a friend and former co-worker, who is pregnant and going to have an amazingly cute baby in November (I just know it will have dark, dark hair like her & her husband) . . . Ann and I ate at Taste of India, which if you haven't been there (a shame) is a great place for vegetarians and omnivores alike. Their samosas are excellent, in case anyone was wondering (like Q, maybe). If you visit their website, linked above, beware that it seems to be under construction just like the DoubleTree Hotel parking lot you have to go through to get to the restaurant, but the directions are correct, and that's the most important part.
I am, as some of you might know, also slightly accident prone and have so far managed to skin my right elbow on a dining table (yes, you read that correctly) and I have no idea how it happened; my elbow just started to hurt! Oh, and I sliced open a toe on my left foot by accidentally stepping on my razor, which unbeknownst to me had fallen off the side of the tub onto the bath mat after I took a shower, and when I stepped out onto the mat, ouch! It bled a lot but didn't hurt too much after like 15 minutes and since I had bought new Band-Aids for my brother the day before due to my elbow issue and having used his last 2 Band-Aids, I had plenty on hand. They are Marvel Comics Band-Aids even. Cool, huh? Yes, and geeky. I know.
On tomorrow's agenda: breakfast with my ex-step-mom Martha and hanging out with Rachel. And then on Friday, cleaning Thyme's house and buying some snacks for the party/game night and then, of course, having fun with everyone while drinking sangria or Corona or maybe just ginger ale and playing Loaded Questions or whatever else happens. And on Saturday morning, not too early let's hope, some quality time at Anodyne with Sharyn & Parker & Ellen & maybe a photo of Aly who can't be there due to having moved to Florida. Hmm. There's something I'm forgetting, but maybe I'll remember before I leave to go back to Berkeley, CA on Saturday evening. One can only hope.
I love Minneapolis. The moon is ridiculously full and large tonight and I will stare at it for a while and then go to sleep. P.S. The time-stamp is on Pacific time! I am not. It is well past midnight where I am :)
Um, I ate there on my birthday. With Thyme. And Ani. And Yelena. And ate samosas.
